spell book

Halloween is a favorite in my family. Every year we try to make a new fall item, so when I saw these spell books on Pinterest I knew they were a must. And they are still a favorite.

What you will need:
Old book
Printed spell pages
Ribbon
Distress ink
Mog podge
Lighter
Tea mixture

Head over to your local thrift shop to find an old book. They have the best prices for the perfect worn look. Plus you might score some extra cash... A local here bought a book and found a thousand bucks in it. True story! Cook up some tea and pour into a spray bottle. Spray pages and let dry.... This will help with the aged look. Use your Distress ink to darken a few spots on your page. Then take a lighter and burn your edges. Be careful to not let it burn the whole page. I kept my spray bottle close by so I could control the burning. Type up your spell and print it on white paper. Mog podge it to your book adding more tea mixture and Distress ink. Then tuck your Ribbon in the top and let it fall. Abracadabra! You've got yourself a spell book.
