Always Kiss Me Goodnight

It may or may not have taken me over 5 years to print out my wedding pictures.  How horrible am I? Especially when I love to scrapbook.  I am always printing pictures out for my boys, but somewhere I kept forgetting to do my pictures.  I guess that's what happens when you have children, you tend to put all the focus on them (which I don't mind.)

So, I know I have talked about MyMemories a lot!! I absolutely love love love their software if you can tell!!! You can do so much on there other than scrapbook stuff.  It took me like 10 minutes to design "Always Kiss Me Goodnight." I love EASY!!!

I have been wanting to do something over my headboard for quite sometime now.  I just couldn't decide on what.  When my wedding pictures popped into my mind.  I knew I had too.  And I am glad I did.  Now I can see them everyday and remember one of the happiest days of my life.

Dresser upgrade

You guys! I can't even begin to express how happy I am with how this dresser turned out! I got the inspiration from a family friend of mine who I'd hire for a personal decorator in a second. I've been looking for a way to refinish a dresser for my baby's room and when I saw hers I knew I had to do it. The best part is it only took me one weekend to finish (with some sanding help from the hubs). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Here is the before photo.

Here is the after of the dresser.

I'm so happy with how it looks in the room with all the decorations and crib! What do you think?

First I sanded it a bit and used an old white paint I had left over. I only did two coats so when it came to sanding the spots to make it look antique I didn't have to do to much. The drawers are painted with Americana decor chalk paint I found at Home Depot.  After I sanded and distressed, I used Kona stain over all of the drawers and on the edges. Then, only on the sanded spots for the white so it still looked bright white. I found the decorative knobs at Hobby Lobby (I go there like 3 times a week). Last I finished it with a clear paste wax. Which is an item I will be using on everything from now on. Absolutely love!

Photo blocks

If you're anything like me then you can't ever have enough photo displays. I love finding new ways to show off my cuties. This spinning photo block was giving to me by my mother in law and sat in my craft room for way to long. Until today when I got the inspiration of exactly what I wanted to do. I decided I needed to add some color to my front room and I feel this does just that.

I painted it, roughed it up a bit and finished it with a stain. The blocks are covered with scrapbook paper and the memories is a vinyl. Now the hard part is to decide which photos to add.

I've seen photo blocks similar to this at craft stores like Wood Creations or Quilted Bear.

Wood pallet tree

I know Christmas is over, but it's still Winter and I think pine trees are the perfect in between decor for after you take down Christmas and it feels so empty. Here's a little something I did for my porch. I love the rustic earthy feel it brings.

The wooden tree is actually a pallet with the top corners cut to make the tree shape and then I just painted in different greens and distressed it. Super easy! My hubby also helped me make the wooden chair last Summer. If you're interested in the instructions on how to make that I can add the tutorial.
